„The Clairvoyant“ (aka The Evil Mind) is a 1935 drama film directed by Maurice Elvey. The screenplay by Charles Bennett and Bryan Edgar Wallace is loosely based on the 1928 novel „Der Hellseher“ by Ernst Lothar.

A fake music-hall clairvoyant meets a woman, and suddenly his predictions seem to come true.
Maximus, a small-time music hall mind reader, has frightening flashes of precognition; but he cannot predict or control them--until he realizes that he has them in the presence of Christine, a publisher’s attractive daughter who makes his equally-lovely wife Rene wretchedly jealous. But worse trouble comes to Maximus when he’s accused of causing a disaster he predicted.

Ein falscher Hellseher lernt eine Frau kennen, und plötzlich scheinen seine Vorhersagen wahr zu werden.
Maximus, ein unbedeutender Hellseher, hat beängstigende Vorahnungen, die er jedoch weder vorhersagen noch kontrollieren kann - bis er merkt, dass er sie in Gegenwart von Christine hat, der attraktiven Tochter eines Verlegers, die seine ebenso attraktive Frau Rene auf erbärmliche Weise eifersüchtig macht. Aber es kommt noch schlimmer für Maximus, als er beschuldigt wird, eine von ihm vorhergesagte Katastrophe verursacht zu haben.
