„Scalps“ is a 1987 is a Spaghetti Western from 1987 directed by Bruno Mattei. The screenplay by Bruno Mattei, Roberto Di Girolamo and José María Cunillés is based on a story by Italo Gasperini and Richard Harrison.
The commander of a Texan fort in the Civil War refuses to surrender to the Northerners, and tries to buy the local Indian tribe chief’s daughter. The sage man refuses, and the Southerners massacre the tribe and abduct the young squaw anyway. The noble squaw manages to escape, and hides out with a rough rancher, who dislikes Indians, but hates the Southerners more. The odd couple joins forces, and tactics, to exert ultimate vengeance on the men at the fort.

Der Kommandant eines texanischen Forts im Bürgerkrieg weigert sich, sich den Nordstaatlern zu ergeben, und versucht, die Tochter des Häuptlings des örtlichen Indianerstamms zu kaufen. Der weise Mann weigert sich, und die Südstaatler massakrieren den Stamm und entführen die junge Squaw trotzdem. Der edlen Squaw gelingt die Flucht, und sie versteckt sich bei einem rauen Rancher, der die Indianer nicht mag, aber die Südstaatler noch mehr hasst. Das ungleiche Paar schließt sich zusammen, um sich endgültig an den Männern im Fort zu rächen.
