„Pennies From Heaven“ is a 1936 musical comedy film directed by Norman Z. McLeod. The screenplay by Jo Swerling and William Rankin (story) is based on the 1913 novel „The Peacock Feather“ by Leslie Moore.

Larry Poole, in prison on a false charge, promise an inmate that when he gets out he will look up and help out a family. The family turns out to be a young girl, Patsy Smith, and her elderly grandfather who need lots of help.
Bing Crosby is a self-styled troubador who befriends an orphaned girl and her grandfather in this heartwarming story. The title song (sung by Crosby) is a classic. Look for jazz legend Louis Armstrong.
