“The Lone Wolf in London” is a 1947 mystery crime film directed by Leslie Goodwins. The screenplay by Arthur E. Orloff and Louis Joseph Vance is based on a story by Brenda Weisberg and Arthur E. Orloff, which in turn is based on the character of the „Lone Wolf”, a jewel thief turned private detective, from a series of novels written by Louis Joseph Vance between 1879 and 1934.

The Lone Wolf is the former jewel thief working on the side of the law. He is accused of stealing two fabulously precious diamonds from Scotland Yard s safe. In the end, he apprehends the real thief and the jewels are put back into the safe.
