„The Return of the Whistler“ is a 1948 film-noir mystery film directed by D. Ross Lederman. The screenplay by Edward Bock and Maurice Tombragel is based on the short story „All at Once, No Alice“ by Cornell Woolrich which in turn is inspired by the 1942–1955 radio series „The Whistler“ by J. Donald Wilson.

In this mysterious and intriguing tale loosely based on the CBS radio program „The Whistler,“ Duane is faced with a problem when the girl he is about to marry, Aubert, is missing. He knows almost nothing about her past, but through clues provided by some of her belongings, and the aid of private detective Lane, the girl turns up.
