„Killers of Kilimanjaro“ is a 1955 adventure film directed by Richard Thorpe. The screenplay by Earl Felton and John Gilling is based on a story by Cyril Hume and Richard Maibaum, which in turn is inspired by the 1954 book „Tales of the African Frontier resp. African Bush Adventures“ by  J.A. Hunter and Daniel P. Mannix.

The engineer, commissioned to survey and build the first East African railway, is beset by wild beasts, hostile tribesmen, and an Arab slave trader.
In the 19th century, during the German colonial rule, railway engineer Robert Adamson arrives in the Kilimanjaro Region to finish building a railroad through hostile territory.

Das Drehbuch von Earl Felton und John Gilling basiert auf einer Geschichte von Cyril Hume und Richard Maibaum, die wiederum von dem 1954 erschienenen Buch „Tales of the African Frontier bzw. African Bush Adventures“ von J.A. Hunter und Daniel P. Mannix inspiriert wurde.

Der Ingenieur, der mit der Vermessung und dem Bau der ersten ostafrikanischen Eisenbahn beauftragt ist, wird von wilden Tieren, feindlichen Stammesangehörigen und einem arabischen Sklavenhändler bedrängt.
Im 19. Jahrhundert, während der deutschen Kolonialherrschaft, kommt der Eisenbahningenieur Robert Adamson in die Kilimandscharo-Region, um den Bau einer Eisenbahnlinie durch feindliches Gebiet zu beenden.
