„The Cameraman“ is a 1928 silent romantic comedy film directed by Edward Sedgwick and Buster Keaton from a a screenplay by Clyde Bruckman, Lew Lipton, Byron Morgan and Al Boasberg with intertitles by Joseph Farnham.
In this silent classic, photographer Buster meets Sally, who works as a secretary for the newsreel department at MGM, and falls hard. Trying to win her attention, Buster abandons photography in order to become a news cameraman. In spite of his early failures with a motion camera, Sally takes to him as well. However, veteran cameraman Stagg (Harold Goodwin) also fancies Sally, meaning Buster will need to learn how to film quickly before he loses his job.

„Buster Keaton, der Filmreporter“ (The Cameraman) ist eine romantische Stummfilmkomödie aus dem Jahr 1928 unter der Regie von Edward Sedgwick und Buster Keaton nach einem Drehbuch von Clyde Bruckman, Lew Lipton, Byron Morgan und Al Boasberg mit Zwischentiteln von Joseph Farnham.
In diesem Stummfilmklassiker lernt der Fotograf Buster Sally kennen, die als Sekretärin in der Wochenschauabteilung von MGM arbeitet, und verliebt sich schwer. In dem Versuch, ihre Aufmerksamkeit zu gewinnen, gibt Buster die Fotografie auf, um Nachrichtenkameramann zu werden. Trotz seiner anfänglichen Misserfolge mit einer Filmkamera findet auch Sally Gefallen an ihm. Allerdings ist auch der erfahrene Kameramann Stagg (Harold Goodwin) an Sally interessiert, so dass Buster schnell lernen muss, wie man filmt, bevor er seinen Job verliert.
