After going to therapy to understand more about himself, a newly unemployed single man must go it alone when his therapist is incapacitated.
Meet Dick, 32, single, newly unemployed, and with just nothing happening on either front. Been in therapy for 2 years, finally starting to sort some stuff out, when bang!! His therapist, Dr Schnell, has a mental breakdown, leaving Dick to fend for himself. Feeling cheated and with no one to talk to, Dick decides that if his shrink’s in the nuthouse then there’s no reason why he can’t start his own practice. So he does... in the garage. But Dick’s best friend and house-mate, Reece, who had been posing as a blind beggar, is not impressed. And so, in rival response, decides to reinvent himself as a spiritual healer. Despite the direct competition, and Reece’s deliberate attempts at sabotage, Dick’s Clinic thrives. Dirt cheap mental health proves to be an unexpected hit to the bottom feeders of suburbia. Dick soon finds himself dealing with a clientèle whose problems not only test his skill as a therapist, but also his patience. And amid the disfunction of Dick’s chosen course, he begins to find a sense of compassion and an ability to love again.

Nachdem er eine Therapie gemacht hat, um mehr über sich selbst zu erfahren, muss ein frisch arbeitsloser Single-Mann allein zurechtkommen, als sein Therapeut verhindert ist.
Darf ich vorstellen: Dick, 32 Jahre alt, ledig, arbeitslos, und an beiden Fronten passiert einfach nichts. Er ist seit 2 Jahren in Therapie und fängt endlich an, einige Dinge zu klären, als es knallt! Sein Therapeut, Dr. Schnell, erleidet einen Nervenzusammenbruch und lässt Dick sich selbst überlassen. Dick fühlt sich betrogen und hat niemanden, mit dem er reden kann. Er beschließt, dass es keinen Grund gibt, warum er nicht seine eigene Praxis eröffnen kann, wenn sein Psychiater in der Klapsmühle ist. Also tut er es... in der Garage. Aber Dicks bester Freund und Mitbewohner Reece, der sich als blinder Bettler ausgegeben hat, ist nicht beeindruckt. Und so beschließt er, sich als Rivale als Geistheiler neu zu erfinden. Trotz der direkten Konkurrenz und Reece' vorsätzlicher Sabotageversuche floriert Dicks Klinik. Die preiswerte geistige Gesundheit erweist sich als unerwarteter Hit für die Unterschicht der Vorstädte. Dick hat es bald mit einer Klientel zu tun, deren Probleme nicht nur seine Fähigkeiten als Therapeut, sondern auch seine Geduld auf die Probe stellen. Und inmitten der Dysfunktionalität von Dicks gewähltem Weg beginnt er, Mitgefühl und die Fähigkeit zu lieben wiederzufinden.
