„Midwives“ is a 2001 crime drama film directed by Glenn Jordan. The screenplay by Cynthia Saunders is based on the 1997 novel of the same name by Christopher A. Bohjalian.
When a home birth goes horribly wrong, the administering midwife finds herself facing charges of manslaughter. The story is told through the eyes of her 14-year-old daughter, who finds herself having to choose between the law and her devotion to her mother.
