After rescuing two workers during a steel mill accident, Dick Brunton is invited to the home of his boss, Arthur Parker, as a show of thanks. There, Parker’s daughter, Dot, takes a liking to him and sets out to win him over. Dick and Dot marry, and he receives a promotion, thanks to Dot’s pleading with her father. Soon, though, Dot becomes preoccupied with her social life, giving little attention to Dick, who begins to doubt her fidelity.

Dort findet Parkers Tochter Dot Gefallen an ihm und macht sich daran, ihn für sich zu gewinnen. Dick und Dot heiraten, und dank Dots Bitten an ihren Vater wird er befördert. Doch schon bald ist Dot mit ihrem gesellschaftlichen Leben beschäftigt und schenkt Dick wenig Aufmerksamkeit, der an ihrer Treue zu zweifeln beginnt.
