“Go West” is a silent film comedy by Buster Keaton based on a screenplay by Buster Keaton, Lex Neal and Raymond Cannon from 1925.
In this western parody, Buster Keaton also draws on motifs from Charlie Chaplin. As an impoverished tramp, he sets off west on a freight wagon and signs on as a cowboy on a cattle ranch without having the slightest idea of the duties of a cowboy.
The film was a great success and confirmed Keaton as one of the greatest comedians of his time.

In der Westernparodie greift Buster Keaton auch auf Motive von Charlie Chaplin zurück. Als verarmter Tramp bricht er auf einem Güterwaggon nach Westen auf und heuert auf einer Rinderfarm als Cowboy an, ohne die geringste Ahnung von den Aufgaben eines Kuhjungen zu haben.
Der Film war ein großer Erfolg und bestätigte Keaton als einen der größten Komiker seiner Zeit.
