Un homme solitaire travaille dans un haut immeuble de bureaux. Le seul moment de sa vie monotone qui sort de l’ordinaire chaque année semble être l’ouverture de la carte d’anniversaire et du cadeau de sa mère. D’habitude, c’est une cravate, mais cette année, c’est un accordéon. Il va rejoindre ses nombreuses cravates dans l’armoire. Un ou deux ans plus tard, il apprend ce qu’il advient des papiers qu’il manipule quotidiennement. Sa découverte le conduit d’abord au dernier étage du bâtiment, puis dans son armoire.

Mélange de marionnettes et d’animation dessinée à la main, „Le Nœud de Cravate“ raconte l’histoire de Valentin et de sa quête pour donner un sens à sa vie. Coincé dans un emploi sans avenir, il a oublié tout ce qui lui procurait de la joie. Les années passent et l’ennui remplace toutes ses aspirations et ses espoirs pour l’avenir. Ce n’est que le jour de ses 40 ans, lorsqu’il redécouvre un vieil accordéon caché au fond de son placard, qu’il retrouve le goût de vivre.

Normalerweise ist es eine Krawatte, aber in diesem Jahr ist es ein Akkordeon. Es wandert in den Schrank zu seinen vielen Krawatten. Ein oder zwei Jahre später erfährt er, was mit den Papieren passiert, die er täglich bearbeitet. Seine Entdeckung führt ihn zuerst in den obersten Stock des Gebäudes und dann in seinen Schrank.

Erst als er an seinem 40. Geburtstag ein altes Akkordeon wiederentdeckt, das er in den Tiefen seines Kleiderschranks versteckt hat, gewinnt er seine Lebenslust zurück.

A lonely man works in a high-rise office building. The one moment in his monotonous life that seems to stand out every year is when he opens his mother’s birthday card and gift. Usually it’s a tie, but this year it’s an accordion. It will join his many ties in the wardrobe. One or two years later, he learns what happens to the papers he handles every day. His discovery led him first to the top floor of the building, then to his wardrobe.

A mixture of puppet and hand-drawn animation, „The Necktie“ is the story of Valentin and his quest to find meaning in his life. Stuck in a dead-end job, he has forgotten all about the things that used to bring him joy. Years pass, and boredom replaces all his aspirations and hope for the future. It is only on his 40th birthday, when he rediscovers an old accordion hidden in the depths of his closet, that he regains his lust for life.
